Treatments to Prevent Transmission of Perinatal HIV Infection
Making the right treatment decisions in pregnancy requires good communication between pregnant women/couples and physicians. Talk to your physician about treatments to control the virus and/or reduce the risk of perinatal infection, as well as:
- Current guidelines for administering antiretroviral drugs to pregnant HIV positive women to reduce risk of perinatal HIV transmission
- Antiretroviral treatment: controlling the virus
- Antiretroviral, family-centered care, medication adherence, nutrition, quality of life issues, pain and palliative care
